The Tucson Choir Boys were formed in 2004 as a side project by two members of Loco Zydeco, one of Canada’s premier Zydeco bands. Featuring Dave the Cat (lead guitar & lead vocals) and Sameday Ray
(acoustic guitar & vocals), they continue to wow audiences at festivals, speciality events and clubs across
Ontario with their fiery brand of acoustic and semi-acoustic Rockabilly, Roots and the Blues.

In 2008 they joined forces with Canadian Blues Legend
Cheryl Lescom, performing and recording as an
acoustic trio. In 2009 the trio released their self titled debut album,
Cheryl Lescom & the Tucson Choir Boys,
a sixteen song mixture of original material and rootsy, acoustic versions of songs by Leadbelly, Spirit,
The Beatles and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.

In 2010, fellow Loco Zydeco members Les Graham (acoustic bass & vocals) and Kristine KK Walsh (rubboard & percussion) joined the Tucson Choir Boys, along with Kitchener based guitar wiz Robert Reid. In 2014, the expanded band recorded their own long awaited and self titled debut EP, Tucson Choir Boys. Released by Squirrel Head Music, the disc consists of five Dave the Cat penned originals, plus acoustic cover versions of Motörhead’s Ace of Spades and CCR’s Born On The Bayou, the latter featuring Cheryl Lescom on vocals.

In 2015 the Tucson Choir Boys returned to the studio with Cheryl to record their next album together,
1953. Released by Busted Flat Records it was followed in 2020 by Well Played and most recently, Last Call in 2026. Currently, the Tucson Choirs Boys are working on material for a new album of their own, while still playing live with Cheryl Lescom. They continue in their dedication to the art of the guitar and honest music.
